The International Geek Girls Pen Pal Club is one of the best things I’ve found on the internet. Combining Twitter, Facebook and the openness of online chatrooms, the IGGPPC have created something amazing. They’ve been active for almost a year, and they strive to bring together geeky ladies and give them a place to share their passions, the things they love and the things they geek out over!
Since its initial opening last April, the site has paired up thousands of ladies, and united thousands of like-minded individuals, myself included! I’ve made some amazing friends (both on the old site and through the #IGGPPC hashtag on Twitter) thanks to the IGGPPC, and its ever-loving overlords, Jen, Arielle, Leslie, Emily and Emma.
The openings for new pen pals begin on the 15th of each month, and that’s when you can sign up (if you haven’t already!) and be assigned a pen pal somewhere else in the world, based on your mutual interests.
Recently, the all-powerful, all-loving overlords of the IGGPPC have relaunched the site on WordPress, and it looks fabulous! With a shiny new interface and all the tabs and help you could ever need, the IGGPPC does it all: they have book clubs, meet-ups, photo challenges, achievements and everything you could possibly think of! So, if you’re a geeky lady who wants to find more like-minded people, get yourself over to the IGGPPC. I promise you, you will not regret it! Just take a quick read through the testimonial page to see for yourself.
