I can’t believe it’s May already! It’s been a year since I finished my degree, and it feels like that year has gone by super quickly. However, I feel somewhat comforted by a number of things; looking at where I started (Hamilton references EVERYWHERE sorrynotsorry) and looking at where I am. I have my own flat, a full time job, and a loving boyfriend. While life is not entirely perfect, it’s still pretty rad.
Like any month, I have a few goals I want to achieve this month, and as everyone else is posting their goals, I decided to join in too!
1.) Blog more
I have made the very uneasy transition of going from a student with little class time, to having a zero hour contract job, to having a full time job. I now work 33+ hours a week, and boy, it is a new experience! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to blog as much as I would like to. I have all these great ideas for blogs, but not quite enough time to write them out! This month, I would like to make the most of my days off and publish at least two posts a week. I just need to work a little harder at establishing a balance between work and play.
2.) Keep eating healthy
One thing I’ve noticed since starting my new job is I eat healthier now. I’m not sure how it happened, as the place I work specialises in THE most delicious cakes and sweet treats and I have to stare at them all day long! I’ve been taking fruit and cereal bars to eat on my breaks and while I commute, and it’s helped me loads. I feel way less lethargic, my skin is clearer, and my daily run-to-the-bus tradition is getting easier. Hopefully I can keep up this good habit throughout the month and I’ll continue seeing an improvement in my health!
3.) Finish watching Black Sails
I made the big jump aboard the Walrus and started watching Black Sails! I’m making it a goal to actually finish this show, as I love it and have a criminally short attention span when it comes to TV. Aaargh, matey!
4.) Learn how to cross stitch
I’ve been looking for something rad and crafty to do, and thanks to my incredible friend Valerie, I feel more inclined than ever to learn! Just recently, Valerie has been working on an INCREDIBLE Dragon Age themed cross stitch and I fell in love with it. She was kind enough to send me the PDF pattern for it, so once I’ve learnt some of the basics and got some gear, I’m gonna start it. Eee!
5.) Start on some fiction ideas!
It finally happened! I’ve been inundated with plot bunnies and I’m itching to get to work on them. Even if I just flesh out some plots and characters this month, I’ll be happy. I might also unleash my inner fangirl and work on a few fanfic ideas…
What are your goals this month?
